Our Live At The Hub concerts have become an important part of TradFest, introducing new music to agents and managers, potentially propelling performers to the next level of their career. All acts selected for our showcases have a unique sound and talent, and most importantly, passion and love for their music.

Ellen and Carla have been writing and singing together from the age of 15 before they took their music to a new level as ELKIN. They collaborated with Tebi Rex on ‘She Hated Love Songs II’ and following the release of their debut single ‘Paro’, ELKIN were named as one of State.ie’s Faces of 2018. Their eagerly awaited debut EP, Bad Habits, was released on May 12th. The soulful collection of original tracks marked their place amongst the most exciting new Irish acts of 2018.

Drops of Green

Drops Of Green are a band of four young men hailing from Laois, Kilkenny and Waterford. Formed in early 2015, they are quickly building a fan base both at home and abroud. Combining a expert instrumentation with blissful four part harmonies, they cover favourite Irish melodies bringing their own unique, modern style to the classics. They are a must see.

The Conifers strive to remain true to a traditional repertoire of Clare, Sliabh Luachra and Donegal. The five members met while studying traditional music at the University of Limerick and won the Michigan Irish Music Initiative 2018 competition. This gave them the opportunity to perform at Michigan Irish Music Festival. A band on the rise!

Singer and songwriter Lisa Loughrey, began making music just five years ago as the front woman of Dublin band, The Mariannes. Having recently embarked upon a solo expedition, Lisa was selected to headline the Whelan’s Trad & Folk Festival. She received the Clancy Brothers inaugural songwriting award and recently released her debut EP ‘Plans and Schemes’. An exciting talent.
Mules & Men

This Irish four piece band based out of Dublin are pioneers of the Celtgrass scene. Bound together by a shared love of folk and bluegrass, Mules and Men have been reinterpreting these classic sounds into a unique and contemporary style of their own. With three part harmonies, blazing string playing and inspired original material, they are a truly mesmerizing act.

Hoodman Blind are a contemporary Irish trio based in Limerick. Niamh O Brien (harp), Seán Ó Dalaigh (ﬁddle) and Finn Harper (accordion) Their journey in traditional music incorporates new compositions and the musics of Finland and Sweden, where they have both studied and performed. It’s in live performance that the trio come alive so come see!
