A Dublin native, Tom was raised into music as a boy soprano in St Michaels Church Dún Laoghaire and attended tin-whistle classes at the headquarters of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí na Éireann in Monkstown. The seeds were sown for a rich and diverse palette of musical tastes which developed and matured over the following years. In 1996 Tom joined the newly founded traditional super group Danú. He has recorded over eight albums with Danú and has made guest appearances on many other recordings. Tom has also been commissioned to write music for Julie Fowlis, Nicola Benedetti and has been writing music for the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland. His latest piece is titled “Legacy”.
